In a Nutshell
- The ER Port-a-Shower is a fully self-contained temporary shower unit, available to clients while their bathroom is being rebuilt.
- It connects to mains water, drains by hose, and runs on a gas bottle for instant hot water — no special setup required.
- It’s also available to hire beyond renovation projects: camping, bach trips, events, sports occasions, and more.
The Question Every Bathroom Renovation Client Asks
At some point in every bathroom renovation conversation, it comes up: what do we do for a shower while the work is happening? It’s a practical question, and it deserves a practical answer.
For a lot of Waikato homes, there’s one main bathroom. When that’s out of action for any length of time, daily life gets complicated fast. Friends and neighbours can help for a night or two, but that’s not ideal for anyone.
That’s exactly why Enhanced Renovations has its own Port-a-Shower unit. Another one is heading out to a client this week while the team build their new walk-in shower – which is a good moment to explain how it works.
How It Works
The unit is self-contained and genuinely straightforward to set up. It doesn’t need a dedicated bathroom space or any special plumbing arrangements.
Privacy isn’t a concern. The unit works well in a garage or any sheltered outdoor area – which means clients aren’t doing anything unusual from the outside, and the setup is as private as they need it to be.
The water connection runs directly from the mains – no stored water or tank required. Drainage runs off by hose, so there’s no connection to the waste system needed. Hot water is supplied by a gas bottle, giving you instant hot water on demand. It’s a proper shower – comfortable and functional – not a rough camping workaround.
Between client jobs, the unit comes back in for a proper clean and service before it goes out again. It’s maintained to the same standard as everything else on site.
Not Just for Renovation Clients
Here’s the part people don’t always expect: the Port-a-Shower is available for hire beyond renovation projects.
The use cases are broader than most people first think:
- Camping and bach trips where a proper hot shower beats the campground queue
- Beach weekends and events where decent facilities aren’t on site
- Rural properties where the main bathroom is out of action during a build
- Sports events where the clubrooms are closed or overcrowded after the game
If you’re planning something where a proper portable shower would make a genuine difference, it’s worth getting in touch to check availability.
For Renovation Clients – Ask Early
The unit is primarily allocated to Enhanced Renovations clients going through a bathroom rebuild. If you’re planning a project with us, ask about the Port-a-Shower as part of the initial planning conversation – it removes one of the most common practical stresses from the whole experience.
